Sonomic Signs Contract with the BBC to Distribute Sound Effects Online
Agreement Makes Sonomic the Only Source for Downloadable BBC Sound Effects
IBC 2002, Amsterdam – September 13, 2002– At IBC 2002, Sonomic™ (www.sonomic.com), the premier provider of sound library management solutions, announced an agreement with the British Broadcasting Corporation to distribute the BBC Sound Effects Collection online. The agreement makes Sonomic the only source for downloadable BBC sound effects.
The BBC’s collection has been widely recognized as one of the best and most complete in the world. In total, the BBC will add over 15,000 new sound effects to Sonomic’s Online Library, including those from the 40 CD “Original Series” the 20 CD “Second Edition”, and over 100 new CDs worth of previously unreleased material. All sounds from the BBC Original Series and Second Edition are currently available for purchase and download through the Sonomic Online Library (www.sonomic.com). The remainder of the BBC collection will be available by the end of October.

All sound effects can be previewed as streaming audio before being downloaded in full resolution WAV and AIFF formats.
